Scottish Loch Lomond Elopement Photography - Angie + Matt.

When I think back to the wedding of Angie and Matt, I think of resilience. Not only the resilience to the relentless rain in the Scottish highlands for their elopement but resilience to the changing of plans, the idea of what your wedding should be.

Angies family lives thousands of miles away in America and couldn’t make it over for the wedding. Her mum and bridesmaid FaceTimed in the morning when Angie was getting in her dress, they were there watching through the ceremony and even zoomed their own father-of-the-bride and mother-of-the-bride speeches. Their family photographs of weddings recent and ancient decorated their venue, reminding them of the support from those that couldn’t be there. It was one of the most emotional things we have ever witnessed at a wedding in all our years of being documentary wedding photographers. Their wedding ceremony took place at Monachyle Mor hotel and restaurant, a gorgeous pink building in the middle of Loch Lomond National Park.

We walked down to the loch side for their couples session, and it was POURING with rain. But in true 2020 wedding fashion, Angie and Matt braved it and it was so worth the effort. We are super proud of these moody, misty atmospheric couples portrait images for their scottish wedding. To add to all of the stress of planning a wedding in 2020. Angie and Matt were also separated by oceans right before they were due to get married, changing their initial wedding plans and planning a Scottish elopement wedding with a 6 hour time difference. They were so completely devoted to each other and excited to finally be husband and wife after such a crazy time. We were so privileged to be there to document their marriage, but even that seems like an understatement, it truly was a special day. 🖤

So to all those couples who have been affected by your plans changing at the last minute and feeling like everything isn’t working out. Please, trust that love conquers all. Elope now, party later. You won’t regret it. Make sure you send us a message if you’re planning your elopement, we would love to be there to document it.
